Haiku hijinks

3 Apr

This post will read best / On a non-mobile device / Trust me, it’s worth it …

Today, less is more:
Educational topics
Addressed by haiku

No Spring Break for me
Back-to-back quarters are tough
But learning is fun

On my new bike team
I learn about five women
Who totally rock

Weโ€™re strangers no more
Three 9-hour rides will do that
(Two were in a car)

“Wind is not your friend,”
Was a major lesson learned
Slogging through the miles

One hundred twelve miles
With ~nine thousand feet of climbs
Makes for a long day

Bacon, beer & cheese
Cure just about anything
When followed by sleep

Jay is not happy
That my bosom is shrinking
Along with my ass

Coach is delighted
With these same developments,
Which help me climb fast

At school this quarter
I far outpace my classmates
In terms of our age

Both of my classes
Meet two nights per week, which means:
No life until June

I’m OK with this
Because old people like me
Don’t need to party

My profs estimate
20 hours of “outside” work
For each class per week

That’s a lot of work!
So much for retirement
Student life is hard

Color me happy:
My professor throws F-bombs
The rules sure have changed!

Parting Thought: I want to create a seventeen-syllable word that encompasses the human condition, and then use that word to form the worldโ€™s most perfect haiku. ~ Jarod Kintz

this post was worth the wait Z. I would try to compose a haiku for a comment, but it would look sadly insufficient next to the haiku gloriousness above. Always love reading your blog… i can hear you reading it to me in your head (in a voice from Mrs. Watcher’s class!)

    Always good to hear
    That the bacon was worth
    The day’s windy slog
